Immersive Lab
Where ideas start.
The experiments that come before the products: splats, scans, AI prototypes and the occasional beautiful failure. Some of what lives here becomes an app or a workshop. The rest teaches us something. Things change often.
New Worlds, Connected Characters
A connected character of me, inside an AI-generated world.
My own 3D head scan, composited onto a character and dropped into a fully AI-generated environment.
Explorer Glide
Tilt your head and glide over Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef, or your own street.
Explorer Glide lets children explore the real world from above, steering a bird with nothing but their head, over real satellite maps of anywhere on Earth. See any place on Earth from a bird's-eye view, and keep a map of where you flew.
Steer with your head
The front camera watches how you tilt. Lean to turn. Look down to swoop, and tip your head back to climb. There is nothing to hold and nothing to press. Arrow keys work as well, for anyone who would rather sit still.
Fly anywhere
Start at Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef, the Grand Canyon, the Pyramids, Mount Fuji or the Amazon. Or type in your own street, your school, or a park you know. If it is on the map, you can fly over it.
Bring back a map
Turn on the path and your flight draws itself across the map while you fly. At the end you can save a picture of the whole journey, showing your route, where you started and how far you went. It prints well and looks good on a classroom wall.
Learning about maps
Distances are given in things a child can picture, like blue whales end to end or laps of a running track. Height is described rather than measured. The compass reads in words instead of degrees, and you can switch between satellite photos, photos with names on them, and a plain drawn map.
Nothing to win or lose
There is no score, no timer and no way to fail. Children fly for as long as they want and stop when they are ready.
Runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It works best on a bigger screen that can sit still on a desk, where there is more room to see where you are going.
Splat Garden
Walk through a Gaussian-splat capture of a real garden, rebuilt as a luminous, explorable scene in the browser.
Pocket Splatter
An iPhone-to-splat pipeline. Capture a moment on the go and reconstruct it as spatial media on device.
Story Engine
An AI collaborator that co-writes branching picture-book narratives with young authors, keeping them in the driver's seat.
Hazel in AR
Lifting picture-book characters off the page. Drop Hazel the wizard into your room and let kids meet him in augmented reality.
Spatial Classroom
A visionOS sketch for teaching in shared space: manipulatives, models and stories floating between learners.
Field Notes
A living capture journal that pins splats, scans and photos to the places they were made.
More brewing.
