About
A maker at the intersection of learning and wonder.
I’m Paul Hamilton, founder of Hazelbrick Studio — an educator who learned to build, a tinkerer who learned to code, and a storyteller drawn to whatever medium tells the story best.
My path didn’t follow a straight line — and I’m glad it didn’t. It began in the classroom, where I learned that the best teaching doesn’t hand people answers; it gives them ways to discover.
Tinkering taught me to slow down and look closely — to care about detail, craft and the small decisions that make an experience feel considered. That same attention now lives in every interface I design.
Apple’s platforms gave me a place to build. I fell for the craft of iOS and iPadOS — the precision of the Human Interface Guidelines, the feel of a well-tuned animation, the way good software can disappear into pure experience.
Picture books taught me restraint and rhythm. 3D scanning and new tools opened fresh canvases to play with. Today I bring it all together as Hazelbrick Studio — a creative studio built on three pillars: Create, Learn and Inspire.

Human
Technology should feel warm, considered and made for people.
Curious
We learn in public and follow wonder wherever it leads.
Crafted
Details matter. The last 10% is where the magic lives.
The journey
How the threads came together.
The beginning
A classroom and a question
It started in education — and with a stubborn curiosity for how things work. Teaching taught me how people learn, and that wonder is what makes learning stick.
Learning to build
Designing for Apple platforms
Drawn to the craft of Apple's tools, I began building iOS and iPadOS apps — pairing pedagogy with the precision of the Human Interface Guidelines.
Telling stories
Picture books & illustration
Writing and illustrating for young readers, I learned that restraint, rhythm and warmth carry more than any feature list ever could.
Going spatial
Scanning the world
3D scanning and Gaussian splatting opened a new medium — capturing real places as scenes you can step inside and explore.
Now
Where it all meets
Today I work at the intersection of education, design, storytelling and emerging technology — building experiences where learning and imagination meet.
